We know it isn't always easy to reach out and seek help. To make the process of a little easier, here are some tips to follow for making your initial appointment:

  • Please complete the initial intake form via online or download thenew client forms and bring them you your first appointment to make the most efficient use of your time together.
  • It’s a good idea to think about the problem(s) you wish to address in therapy and your desired outcome prior to your first visit.
  • Getting to know you and what brings you to counseling is part of the first appointment. You can anticipate spending some time with Eva responding to both verbal and written questions. All questions are asked in order gain a comprehensive understanding of the difficulty you are facing and identify the most beneficial way to proceed.
  • Some questions will be about prior counseling and/or psychiatric experience.  If you are prescribed psychotropic medications, it is very helpful for you to know their names and the dosages you are taking.
  • If appropriate to your experience, it is also important to have the names and addresses of your counselor from home and the medical practitioner that prescribes your medications.  Your counselor will carefully explain the boundaries that safeguard your privacy and confidentiality.  She or he will also concretely explain the procedural guidelines that we comply with to assure client safety and our own ethical security

The First Appointment

Your first appointment is a consultation in which you and your therapist will work together to prioritize the problems you’d like to work on.

In your second session, your therapist will discuss with you his/her recommendations for a course of therapy (also called your Plan of Care).  While each Plan of Care is unique and individualized, typical plans consist of weekly 45 minute sessions for a duration of 5 to 20 weeks.. 

Please take the elevator to the Penthouse floor. The receptionist will inform your therapist upon your arrival . Kindly arrive at your scheduled appointment time (not before), so that your therapist can conclude the previous appointment. 


Cash, check and credit cards are accepted. Fees are payable at the beginning of the session. Inner Pathways MFT services are out of network for most insurance companies but you will be provided with the necessary paperwork to submit to your insurance carrier.

Cancellations and Unattended Sessions

Regularity and continuity are important to provide structure and maximize the outcome of your therapy. Your therapist will work with you on a schedule of appointments, usually scheduled weekly on a set day and time.

Please note that if you are late for your session, fees are not adjusted and your session will end at the regularly scheduled time.

For cancellations, 24 hours’ notice is requested. Sessions will be payable in full when 24 hours’ notice is not given.
