What:  DBT For Women Module 1:Core Mindfulness and Distress Tolerane Skills Training Group  

When:  Tuesday, March 11th 2014

Where:  19 West 34th Street, 11th Floor, Suite TBD

Class Fees:   $600 for 8-week class; $75 per session. Deposit required to hold spot;

This eight week group will cover Core Mindfulness and Distress Tolerance Skills. DBT Skills groups are based upon Marsha Linehan, Ph.D.’s Psychosocial Training for individuals with behavioral, emotional and cognitive instability.

Core Mindfulness is one of the core concepts behind all elements of DBT. It is considered a foundation for the other skills taught in DBT. Your teen will learn to focus on the present, reduce impulsivity and help them to participate fully in their lives.

Distress Tolerance skills helps individuals accept and tolerate the powerful emotions they may feel when challenging their habits or exposing themselves to upsetting situations.

Enrollment: When clients register for the DBT group, it is expected that they will committ to one of the full 6-8 week modules at a time. To learn more about other DBT Skills Module.  If you are interested in joining the DBT group, an intake appointment will be scheduled to review the client's goals, as well as the structure, expectations and guidelines of the group and answer any questions.
